Salt Lake City Family Convention

O/OFA’s 2018 family convention will be held in Salt Lake City. It will begin on Wednesday, September 12, at 9 a.m. and conclude Saturday evening with a dinner. Check out is Sunday morning, September 16, 2018.

Gather all your research materials as we will be providing lots of free research time besides our usual business meetings and reports.

More information will be published, so stay tuned for updates. We have a “Great Salt Lake” convention planned and hope to see you there.


We will stay in the Salt Lake Plaza Hotel, right next to the LDS Family History Center on Temple Square. You can reserve your rooms now by calling Salt Lake Plaza Hotel (Tel. 801.521.0130). Tell them you are with the Ogle Group.

The rate for our group is $115.00 per day. That amount could change depending on the number of rooms we rent. Rooms are available before and after the convention dates, if you would like to arrive early or stay afterward to do additional research or vacationing.


It is suggested that you come in on Tuesday so you can participate in the initial meetings on Wednesday morning and then start your research in the Family History Library, which is right next door to the Hotel.

We will have classes and seminars at both the Hotel and the Genealogical Library where there are many individuals to help in all your research, not just the Ogle side. In fact, if you have a particular subject you want to learn more about, let me know and I’ll see if I can find an instructor.

If you wish to do a presentation to our group, please let me know what your subject is and about how long your presentation will be.
